The NIA is a technical report that presents the calculated existing or future noise impact of a facility on its environment. Computer Modeling
Using the sound data collected during a site visit or supplied from equipment manufacturers, FDI constructs site specific sound propagation models to quantify facility sound levels and develop noise control recommendations if necessary. Model output is presented in a tabular format as a source order ranked listing for a specific receiver location, or graphically, to show the overall impact level to a region. Noise Impact Assessments are either prepared from sound tests at the site or derived from FDI’s extensive database of measured equipment (theoretical NIA). FDI employs a variety of noise modeling platforms to predict noise impact under a variety of environmental conditions. An FDI Noise Impact Assessment provides all the necessary information to solve difficult noise problems, giving clients access to multiple vendors to address their individual needs for noise control products and solutions. |
